Forgotten World
Forgotten World is a multi-media play investigating the conditions of child soldiers in Uganda and other international areas of war. The play follows six dead children--all victims of war--through the eyes of a photographer whose photos capture their existence. The photographer records the children's memories through images while considering her conflicting role as artist and activist. Inspired by the writer, Deborah Asiimwe's experiences in Uganda during the reign of Joesph Kony's Lord's Resistence Army and the LRA's notorious reputation for child abduction, Forgotten World provides relevant commentary on an important social issue and explores the boundary between art and exploitation.
